santa, be a darling and buy me these goodies.

i tried to be reasonable. honest. but these designer goodies were so excruciatingly gorgeous, that i succumbed to their beauty and chicness.

from top left:

1. alexander wang zip skirt: nothing is more flattering than a perfectly fit black skirt. it is so versatile and the zipper detail is just delicious.

2. maison martin margiela blazer: the color was so soft and warm.

3. dr. martens : can work with potentially anything and the yellow stitching adds a little individuality.

4. oversized wayfarers: they're a classic shape and the oversized design makes them all the more chic.

5. stella mccartney black wedge booties: the heel is so architectural and gorgeous. plus, the contrast between the leather and the wood is a demure style statement.

6. maison martin margiela brown booties: soft brown leather? check. interesting shape? check. it is pure shoe perfection.

7. tom binns neon cuff: the design is so classic yet the neon stone makes it a little more avant garde.

8. helmut lang white tank top: versatile, chic, understated.

9. maison martin margiela dress: the design is beautiful and fantastical and whimsical and perfect.

10. maison martin margiela LBD: because a new twist on an LBD is always welcome in my wardrobe. especially if its details are as immaculate as this one's.

11. rick owens leather jacket: leather will never go out of fashion. can be worn in 284092840909824 ways.

12. elizabeth and james dress/shirt: the color is such a rich shade of green and the ruffles are flirty and victorian-esque. tres, tres chic.

black n white

i'd really like to have these things.
but i kept it realistic.
tophat, lomography fisheye 2 camera, basics in general, a white blazer (not necessarily the boy by band of outsiders one), candy colored heels, white patent leater doc martins and two-tone ray ban wayfarers.
there are some other things i want and hopefully will eventually purchase.
but i dig this whole black and white color scheme :)

tres cool, tres chic

miss lanphear is no stranger to the fashion world: impressive CV included. most recently appointed senior style director at elle u.s., she is definitely the person for the job.

her style is the epitome of adrogynous chic, favoring basics in dark hues mixed with envy-worthy shoes and masculine cuts. result: une femme comme des garçons.
and let's not forget that iconic hairstyle. peroxide blonde never looked better.

o miss battaglia, however do you do it? her elegance is undeniable. her grace unmistakable. the one and only giovanna, editor of l'uomo vogue, has got elegant dressing down to a t.

with an eye for classic clothing and clean lines, her impeccable mix of soft, feminine dresses with structured blazers or bold belts is an inevitable style statement: think calvin klein meets pastels meets ethereal goddess.

miss tomasi is the senior accessories director at teen vogue. what strikes you first is her delicate beauty. auburn hair contrasted with porcelain skin and complimented with an avant garde style.

her key wardrobe staple: mixing. there is something quite alluring in the way she mixes hard edges with soft material, girlish dresses with masculine boots, modern pieces with vintage finds. it is perhaps this artistic approach to dressing that makes her acute attention to detail so well liked and appreciated: a breath of fresh air.

there's a first for everything

well, our interest in blogs was recent. and as per usual, we were inspired to start our own blog. but this a different blog, this is a blog of two. two teenage girls stuck in an oil puddle [a.k.a Saudi Arabia]. this will be a first for people worldwide hearing about the 'fashion scene' in saudi arabia , or lack there of. so, our names are kia and reem [16 and 15 years old respectively]. here's a little about each of us:

K.
16american: maryland
loves music and photography
im not really that into fashion, but i like the aesthetic of clothes
i would describe my style as alice in wonderland on acid
im pretty random, and i like to laugh. ill laugh at anything pretty much
at first i was reluctant to do this but i think that it'll be a good outlet for our creativity and an opportunity for me to get my art and photography out there
so thats me in a nutshell (im allergic to nuts)

R.
15
lebanese
loves fashion and music
i've been interested in fashion since i was 13 [not too long ago]
i would describe my style as minimalist meets vintage
i'm also pretty random
it was my idea to start this blog considering i was the one who is very interested in this blog business. i am also the one who sold my soul to the fashion industry.
i think it's a way for me to showcase my fashion to people who will actually [hopefully] appreciate it, unlike here in saudi arabia, where everyone in my school finds juicy trackpants the highlight of the fashion world *gags*
so that's me in a ...shell [i'm allergic to ...]

so we plan to divide this blog into two, which will hopefully give it some flavaa

a little bit about the name.
it was derived quite randomly and considering the fact we are far from normalcy, it comes as no surprise.
1. we both agreed that we love french fries.
2. since this blog will be fundamentally about fashion , we decided fashion fries is more adequate
3. it comes as no shock that R. is quite infatuated by maison martin margiela and his fantastical, whimsical designs. therefore, maison de fashion fries was born.
